Fashion Forward: Womenswear Inspired by Menswear

Men’s Fashion + Women’s Fashion = Style we Love.

Some of the most basic and classic pieces we find in our closest are those inspired by menswear. The oversized watch, the blazer, the boyfriend jeans, the fedora, and of course our favorite, the Oxford have all been influential pieces from one wardrobe to another.

Chanel’s most iconic piece, the blazer, was inspired by a men’s jersey blazer. The blue and white striped boat neck shirt, another Coco Chanel production, was first seen in the uniforms of French sailors.  Tod ay, boyfriend jeans are a staple in women’s closets.  And let’s not forget about the ‘shirt-dress’ mimicking a man’s shirt that’s often paired with boots and leggings.  We’re all about being inspired by men and here at Kick we’re all about the shoes, too!

Recently added to our reservoir of shoes is a women’s J Shoes Oxford influenced by J Shoes men’s style in the same Spring collection. This little shoe will play a big part in your summer footwear, with its versatility and timeless nature. Its leather sole, detailed leather, and ‘pea nut’ colored cloth is bound to do wonders to your Summer wardrobe.

But first, t he man who inspired it all: Andrew, $193.00

Now the women’s: Jazzy, $142.00

We love classic pieces that allow us to mix and match with new items that fill our closets. Hopefully these shoes can become one of them! *wink*
